Seeking accountant or auditor interested in a career in the oil and gas industry performing Joint Venture and Contract Compliance audits for our clients. Successful applicant will have an accounting degree and be working toward their Masters in Accounting. Prior work experience working in either public accounting or the accounting department of an upstream oil and gas company is a plus. BRI Consulting Group, Inc. is an independent consulting firm providing joint venture auditing services to the oil and gas industry. The company was formed in 1992 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas. BRI Consulting Group, Inc. is actively involved in projects in North America and through our affiliated company, BRI International Consulting, Inc., Canada, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. BRI is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Auditor to conduct Joint Venture and Contract Compliance audits in the energy industry.

Below is an outline of the duties and qualifications for interested and qualified applicants:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Upon successful completion of our training program, the successful candidate will be teamed up with a senior auditor to learn train in conducting all facets of Joint Venture and Contract compliance audits. The Auditor will be responsible for communicating and coordinating with Clients, other Audit Team members, Operators and Vendors. The Auditor will be requested to complete audit programs and write audit reports.

Audit Function:
  • Prepare and respond to correspondence with Clients, Operators and Vendors
  • Read and Analyze contracts and agreements
  • Process necessary data files provided by the Clients, Operators and Vendors in preparation for the audits
  • Communicate and Coordinate with Audit Team members
  • Prepare audit plans and contract summaries
  • Conduct audit fieldwork
  • Prepare status reports
  • Prepare audit report and work papers
  • Review and edit audit reports
General:
  • Perform other tasks as identified by Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • BBA Accounting
  • Working toward or completed your MS ACCY Degree
  • CPA Eligible and willing to complete certification process
  • Oil and Gas Accounting Certificate a plus
  • US Citizen (no visa requirements)
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Primary language must be English; secondary language a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance, able to interact with clients
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel
  • Must have a US passport or be able to obtain a US Passport
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours when necessary
  • Works well in both a team environment and individually
